Responding to Coronavirus
Samaritan's Purse is responding to the COVID-19 pandemic across the globe.
Samaritan's Purse opened a 68-bed Emergency Field Hospital in New York's Central Park on April 1 to provide critical care for people seriously ill with COVID-19. We have treated close to 200 coronavirus patients in Central Park, in addition to patients served in two other New York locations.
Samaritan's Purse has been running a similar medical facility outside of Milan, Italy, since March 20. The 14-tent unit is set up adjacent to the Cremona Hospital in order to treat an overflow of coronavirus patients. Our DC-8 aircraft made two airlifts to Italy in order to deliver the hospital, 20 tons of supplies, and a large Disaster Assistance Response Team.
These emergency medical responses will continue through mid-May. Elsewhere, our 16 field offices across the globe have started more than 70 new projects designed to address the effects of COVID-19 through community engagement and education, training for healthcare providers, case management, and ministering to the physical and spiritual needs of people in hard-hit areas of the world.

This event is part of the Good Samaritan National Race Series benefitting Samaritan's Purse. We're creating an event in each state to see which state will bring the most participation and donations to Samaritan's Purse! While we all have to remain socially distant, we can still come together to support Samaritan's Purse. Please follow all of your local regulations regarding social distancing when participating in your own virtual race. Be sure to share your achievement with your friends, and encourage them to register and compete against your finish time!
